Have strange products appeared in your database? Has a hacker gained access to your admin panel and business data? You may be on the receiving end of an SQL Injection Attack.
SQL Injection attacks are a serious risk to the data security of a website. If a site has not been coded to a high standard, or has not been updated for some time it may be at risk. This kind of attack can affect websites running on MS Access, MS SQL Server, MySQL and other database engines.
An SQL Injection attack takes the form of a carefully crafted string of data, inserted into the address bar, or a form field of a web page. The string contains instructions which tell the database to display information on the page which it was not intended to do. This could be our administration passwords, customer contact details, even credit card information if it is store within your database. The attacker may also 'drop' or 'truncate' data, erasing products and effectively taking your website offline.
We have experience of both preventing SQL Injection Attacks, and cleaning databases which have already been affected. If you have found yourself in this situation and would like us to assist, please contact us.
